Breakfast:
Breakfast was just something quick. I had 3/4 Naked Juice Strawberry Banana smoothie (180 calories) I only had 3/4 because Kevin drank part of it while I was sleeping (even after I asked him not to). And I also had a special K 90 calorie strawberry bar. mmm..those are yummy. (total 270cal)
Lunch:
I got a Subway sandwich for lunch today. It was an oven roasted chicken sandwich on 9 grain wheat with lettuce, tomato, spinach, onions, olives, pickles and some pepper w/ lite mayo. I ended up eating the whole footlong so it was a total of 690 calories. It was pretty tasty though. I wasn't sure if it would be because normally I only have lettuce and tomato.
Snack:
I pretty much had this right after lunch, so you could include it in lunch too I guess. I was getting a little irritated at my Iphone camera because it kept wanting to focus on the background and not my yoplait(170cal). Don't know how to change that. oh well. Still takes pretty decent pictures. When I got home from Uhaul, I also ate a Special K strawberry 90cal bar, before I took a very short nap, which I was awoken by Kevin pouring a little bit of water on me. He thought it was so funny. Later on in the evening (about 6ish), I had a piece of ciabatta bread (about 80 calories). (total for snacks: 340cal)
Dinner:
For dinner, I had my tagliatelle pasta w/ chicken, garlic, broccolli and EVOO. and 3 pieces of ciabatta bread (240 calories). I only ate about MAYBE half of my pasta(200cal) though because by this time in the night I was highly stressed out and irritated. I was feeding off of someone else's high tension/stress energy and I just wanted to yell at them. And then some guy was being creepy at the light rail station and if he would have got any closer I would have maced him! He was just leering and being a little too close. You could tell this guy was probably on drugs and wanders the streets a lot. I didn't look him in the eye or engage him though. I just didn't want to have to deal with the crazy, ya know? There's no reasoning with sick people. When I got home I pretty much just fell asleep. The working and stress had taken a lot of me. (total for dinner: 440)
Total Calories for the Day: 1740
I'm getting pretty good now and eating better I think. I'm trying to be more conscientious of what I eat and how much I eat. It'd be nice to lose like 5lbs, but my goal is just to try to be a little healthier. Gotta start sometime. I'm worried about getting diabetes and having heart problems. I'm also worried about cancer, but that's a little harder to control than the previous two. My choices in eating now can effect getting those serious health problems later. One of my chef's at work is still pretty young and he just got diagnosed with diabetes! scary. I'm doing good so far on not having any soda (well, since last wednesday anyway). I'm really trying to cut it out of my diet. The naked juices help because they're so tasty, but I am trying to drink more water. I had a total of 57.8 FL OZ of water yesterday. That's pretty good. Drinking out of water bottles and cups with straws helped. Well, now it is Sunday and I will update you all later on today's progress!
I'm really happy to hear about you not drinking soda. Good job! And you're doing your best on drinking more water, so that's awesome too!
ReplyDeleteI think in the long runt that being healthy is more important than weight. My mission is to lose weight, but more importantly I wanted to adapt to a new lifestyle of eating and cooking. I just didn't know so many things were so bad for you. I try to read and research as much as I can to learn foods I should avoid in order to stay healthy. You can read up on ways to lower your chances of cancer too. I think one of the biggest things that contributes to heart problems is red meat, and it doesn't sound like you eat red meat. So that's a huge plus! I think you're doing an awesome job, so keep up the good work! And keep writing, so I can keep reading!
ya, I don't eat a lot of red meat. I used to eat a bolognese sauce (meat ragu) at work a lot, but I stopped eating it for the most part. I eat red meat in like spaghetti, or at work or steak (mmm). Generally I try to stick to chicken though.
