Breakfast:
I made myself some oatmeal (1/2c) (150cal) with a teaspoon of light brown sugar (15cal) and 1/2 a banana (about 45cal) cut into it. It was pretty yummy, but I guess I liked the splenda/brown sugar mix. It makes the oatmeal a little more sweeter. When Kevin got back from school (about noon) we had a heated discussion and I ended up with an insufficient amount of time to get ready for class, but decided I would go anyway. Total for Breakfast: 210cal.
Snack:
I had a strawberry Special K 90cal bar on the way to school, around 12:50pm, but I got about halfway and decided that I didn't really want to go to class. I just wasn't in the right mood to focus. So, I turned around and decided I would go to Safeway to pick up ingredients to make a home cooked meal. I wasn't sure what I was going to make yet, so I walked around looking at different things. I decided to check my email for SparkPeople recipes and found one for Sloppy Joes. On my way home from the store, I enjoyed a strawberry banana naked juice (240cal).
Lunch:
For lunch, around 3:30pm, I made myself a turkey and cheese sandwich. I used only like 1 tsp of mayo (30cal) and on the other slice of bread and spread my Laughing Cow cheese (35cal). The sandwich in total was 260cal. I also ate about 15 sunchips with it (140cal). I tried to work on my report and got a little done. I really do hate writing reports. I did get a little bit of core exercise in though. Made my abs feel a little sore, but I feel all better now. Kevin decided to take a nap and finally woke up sometime after 5pm.
Dinner:
This is what the first part of the sloppy joes looks like while sauteing.
He asked me to make dinner so I started on the new recipe for sloppy joes. Kevin was against it from the beginning. He said he hated sloppy joes. I asked him to just try mine, but during the process he was complaining. "What, you're putting green pepper in it!?"
When I finished it and put it on a whole wheat bun, that was the tipping point. He decided not to try it and said "A man needs meat and carbs!" and I pointed out that it had both, he said it wasn't enough. I did get a little snappy at him and retorted back "oh and pizza crust is enough??". So it was battle of the foods and mine lost. So, I promptly sat down and ate what I had handed him. And then as I was halfway done, I remembered that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. So, I apologize for the half-eaten food picture.
It was pretty tasty and not sloppy at all. It was an excellent combination of veggies (It had carrots, yellow onion, green pepper and mushrooms. does onion, green pepper, and mushrooms count as veggies?), tomato sauce, whole crushed tomatoes in puree and barbeque sauce. Mmm Mmm. The sauce is about 193cal/serv and the bread was 160cal. So total for dinner: 353cal. It's less than the estimated calorie count of the recipe, but it's because I went and got the actual calorie info off my cans and bread bag and such. It'd probably go well with a salad.
Well, it's still early (about 8pm) so I'm sure I'll update this later to include a snack! Ciao!
Update:
So Kevin brought me home a dozen and half of white roses. What a good boyfriend he is. : )
Dessert:
We went to Baskin Robbins for their 31cent scoops! I had two scoops of very berry strawberry and 1 scoop of banana strawberry for a total of 430calories. Ah guilty calories, except that before we went out Kevin made me do this like squatting exercise. bleh!
I also had a chocolately drizzle Special K 90cal bar when I got home! gah.
Total calories: 1813
Total water was about 25fl oz.
I think I'll definitely try the sloppy joes! That's really annoying that he refused to eat it after you worked hard to cook. I would smack Jim if he ever did that to me. Luckily, he's eating healthier too. He also stopped eating red meat. Anyway, they look delicious!!
ReplyDeleteNow you're making me want ice cream, damnit! hahaha. Those photos are adorable. That was really nice that he brought you flowers! You still did great on your calories even after the ice cream!
